I've played it for a bit (6 hours, according to Steam - thank you, Steam), hit a battle I couldn't win, realized I had misunderstood part of the Command Actions system, and decided I didn't really want to play it again from the beginning. I stumbled upon this in my endless search for a PC game that resembled at least a bit the "Super Robot Taisen" series. I guess the final version will have an actual price? The version number is "beta 7.1a", and the game looks like it's missing a fair amount of side quests. Still, one missile barrage is enough to destroy a PACT frigate in one shot. Last, but definitely not least, we have missiles these do a lot of damage and have very high accuracy, but their biggest disadvantage is that they have limited ammo we only have one missile barrage per battle. These are going to be one of our go-to weapons because they’re accurate at long range, do a good amount of damage, and early enemies, at least, tend not to have Shields. We have lasers (Which characters in the game call “trinities” which is much more evocative). We also have kinetic guns, which are basically larger but less accurate assault guns. Speaking of, the game doesn’t really do a very good job explaining what weapon ranges actually are as you get closer to an enemy your chance to hit them increases, but I haven’t found a way to find out a weapon’s maximum range, or what the accuracy curve is. Our assault guns “spray explosive low-caliber rounds at the enemy” They have a low energy cost but do a fairly low amount of damage, and have a pretty low range. Our ship also has several different kinds of weapons: Since we’re in a big clumsy capital ship, we actually have a negative EV rating. This seems to reduce all incoming damage, but is especially good against bullets.ĮV is Evasion, our ability to dodge things. SD is Shields, which are the Star Trek style of energy shields that are used to block lasers.ĪR is Armor, as in physical armor plating. I’m not sure whether improving our assault cannons will improve our flak rating. It’s related somehow to our Assault Cannons, which we can also turn on enemies as a weapon. On the left of our card is our ratings in four kinds of armor.įK is Flak, which is used to shoot down incoming missiles. The blue bar is our energy points we’ve got 100 of them, and every action we make costs a certain amount of energy points, and once we run out we can’t do anything more for the turn. If we were to click on one of the PACT frigates our ship’s librarian would rush to the card catalogue to find us their info. I SURE CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE WORTH COMMENTING ON FROM THAT OPENING!Īnyway, let’s move on and get my harem of sexy anime schoolgirls together to save the world or the universe or whatever. Despite that, I am rather fond of the mecha designs, I think they’re pretty neat looking and I look forward to making them explode. So, obviously, the most notable thing about this opening is the lack of animation this is clearly a very low-budget game, without a lot of bells and whistles. This is one of those games that has an anime-style opening theme song. This appears to be one of those indie games where there’s a light strategy game interspersed with a visual novel style story, like 99 Spirits or War of The Human Tanks.Īccording to the splash screen, “This story takes place as we live today, in a universe reminiscent yet vastly different from our own” so I can only assume that it’s a hard-hitting story addressing the problems and issues faced by our generation, plus robots.Īlso according to the screenshots there’s a character called “Cosette Cosmos” which is a fantastic name and that alone is more than enough for me to shell out the asking price of zero dollars and zero cents. I found it while browsing around steam to see if there were any turn-based strategy games about giant robots floating around.
